We have developed our own patented cable protection system, the Gantrex TrenchLok™, to be installed along the a crane track. So, let’s start from the beginning:
What is a crane Cable Protection System?
Set of components used to protect electrical cables and other wiring that are installed along a crane track to provide power and control signals to the crane. They typically protect the cables against damages caused by the crossing of vehicles, and significantly reduce the cables exposure to moisture, dust, salt, or other contaminants, extending the cable operational lifetime in harsh environments.
The GANTREX TrenchLok™ cable protection system efficiently and economically protects crane power cables from damage and any problems caused by crossing vehicle traffic in ports and steel mills. The system also protects the trench from debris, the impacts of adverse weather conditions, whilst also eliminating trip hazards for pedestrians walking on site.
We are also able to supply bespoke cable anchors, designed to fit your needs and minimize the amount of cable required for your crane to travel.
The TrenchLok ™ system provides an OUTSTANDING CABLE PROTECTION in all types of facilities needing cable protection, be it from vehicles or pedestrians.

The Gantrex cable protection system is supplied in two different designs:
TrenchLok™
TrenchLok™HD
The standard TrenchLok™ is designed for light vehicles and pedestrian traffic. Alternatively, the TrenchLok™HD protects against heavy vehicle traffic operations over the belt.
The GANTREX TrenchLok™ cable trench cover – a continuous semi-flexible belt made of steel reinforced rubber fixed on the quay surface along one edge via a stainless-steel strip.
The cable steel channel – a corrosion-resistant steel protection channel, cast in the quay, where cables are laid.

The channel is U-shaped profile made of corrosion-resistant steel. It is cast in the quay to form the cable trench where power cables are laid down while unwinding from cable reels. In comparison to the concrete channels, which can be subject to erosion with the constant use and therefore resulting friction of the cables movement in and out, the durable smooth surface of the lateral walls and base of the channel offers far superior protection for the crane cables. We are able to design customized solutions for all your needs.
Cable Anchors
To minimize the amount of cable needed for a particular crane’s travelling distance, the cable is usually terminated and electrically connected at the center point of the crane’s journey. It is at this center point where a “cable anchor” would be placed inside a formed concrete vault. Depending on the cable’s characteristics, our teams can design and supply customized solutions for all your needs. They are standard supplied in stainless steel.
