Gantrex takes over a Rotterdam-based port crane company

Belgian company Gantrex Group is acquiring Liftcom, a Rotterdam-based company specialising in maintenance of harbour cranes.
Liftcom was founded 15 years ago by Jethro van Eersel. The entrepreneur is now selling his company to the Belgian industry peer. A takeover price is not disclosed. Liftcom focuses on inspecting, maintaining, repairing and moving new and operational port material.

New owner Gantrex seeks to become a global player in the market for port cranes. The company has been owned for nine years by a private equity firm, Argos Wityu.

Gantrex claims to be a market leader in the supply of crane and rail rails used in ports, shipyards, steel mills, aluminium smelters, railway depots and heavy industries. The group employs 450 people and achieves a turnover of €113m. The Belgians also acquired Spanish company ABS Consultor back in 2022.
