The operating conditions of the overhead cranes to transport molten iron in ladles or scrap for furnace loading, are extremely tough: dust, heat, important vibrations, building movements, misalignment of crane beams… Such cranes could never handle those very hazardous loads, safely and reliably, without the use of modern crane technologies and without the use of a reliable runway to support the crane when traveling and operating its hoisting devices.
