Field Diagnostics / Crane Engineer

Main objectives

  • Provide diagnostics services for gantry cranes and rail systems.
  • Possible services include surveying, 3D scanning, vibration analysis and drone flights.
  • Manage mechanical or structural projects of various kind.
  • Manage projects with multiple stakeholders ranging from (port) operators, (crane) OEM’s, third party suppliers and internal contacts.
  • Also operate as contact between Gantrex and consultants/contractors.
  • Participate in projects as project manager with technical skills and give advice internally and externally concerning cranes structures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal and external resources for the flawless execution of our projects;
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget;
  • Develop, adapt project scopes and objectives; ensuring technical feasibility;
  • ensuring resources availability and allocation;
  • Develop adequate project plans and participate to the progress reporting to the management;
  • develop and maintain relationship to the expert network (Suppliers, End-users’ engineers, Universities, specialized Companies…) needed for the project;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including final reports for customers.
  • Participate as resource to other major strategic projects, depending on personal expertise, in particular projects aimed for Project Crane Service

Competences

Technics

Strong mechanical engineering background, service background is a plus

Strong project management skills, PMP or Prince2 certified is a plus.

Language

Fluent in English; any other language being an asset

IT

Familiar with all packages of MS Office & CAD software. Experience with equipment monitoring and data-analysis is a plus

Travel

Ability to travel in US and Canada

Profile

Education

  • Bachelor of engineering and/or relevant experience
  • Experience 5+ years’ experience.
  • Mechanical or structural engineering preferred
  • Service/maintenance engineering is a plus
  • Latest SHEQ requirements
  • Root Cause Analysis experience is a plus
  • Industry: Cranes, heavy lifting, bulk material handling, marine is a plus
