A new contract in Mexico !

Port of Veracruz, Mexico: Gantrex recently signed the supply contract of the ship-to-shore crane rails including continuous support, related to the first phase of the Container-Specialized Terminal (TEC) in the New Port of Veracruz, operated by Hutchison Ports’ ICAVE. The welding of the rails and the supervision of the crane track installation will be also realised by Gantrex.
The New Port of Veracruz will provide an infrastructure capable to cope with the trade increase expected from Mexico’s growing manufacturing base, while avoiding the city’s congestion, due to its new location. Moreover, the new facility will be capable to handle larger ships that call thanks to the enlargement of the Panama Canal.
This first phase of the project, with a dock length of 700m and a yearly capacity of 1.8 million TEUs is due to be inaugurated by the end of June. A second phase, with a dock length of 1050m will afterwards add a further capacity of 2.1 million TEUs.
