A new contract for Gantrex !

 Port Khalifa, Abu Dhabi: Gantrex has signed a major contract with the Chinese contractor China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd (CHEC) for the complete supply and installation of the STS and ASC crane runways of the Khalifa Port Container Terminal Phase 2. COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited will operate this new facility which will double the annual container handling capacity of Port Khalifa, bringing it to 5 million TEUs.
This expansion is also designed to allow docking of the world’s largest class of container ships.
This order, one of the biggest ever secured by Gantrex, encompasses the turnkey supply and installation of 2,400 m A150 rail and continuous support for the STS cranes and 18,240m MRS87A rail with adjustable chairs for the ASC cranes in the container yard.
Delivery will start next month and the final completion of the crane runways for this project is expected by the end of June 2019.
