Main objectives
- Provide worldwide on-site assistance and support for complex mechanical issues related to crane installations, repairs, and inspections.
- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems, including rails, wheels, sheaves, structures, drums, and couplings.
- Train and mentor Gantrex installation teams in mechanical inspections, repairs, and best practices.
- Perform root cause analysis to diagnose mechanical failures and propose effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards while working in demanding environments, including at heights (50-60 meters).
- Generate comprehensive reports with detailed findings and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites worldwide to assist in troubleshooting, repair, and mechanical inspections of cranes and crane rail systems.
- Provide training to Gantrex technicians and customer teams on mechanical inspections, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Identify mechanical failures and root causes, proposing practical solutions to improve crane reliability.
- Interpret technical drawings (2D & 3D) to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Document and report inspection results, ensuring clarity and accuracy in findings.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices during site work.
- Perform and/or supervise non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections and analyze results.
Competence
- Technical Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues in industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical expertise in maintenance, erection, and inspection of cranes or heavy machinery.
- Experience with NDT inspections is highly valued.
- Surveying knowledge is a plus.
- Language English (must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers).
- IT Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel) for reporting.
- Behavioral Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills to diagnose failures effectively.
- Quick learner with a flexible mindset, eager to adapt to new challenges.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with teams globally.
- Clear and open communication skills, both internally and with customers.
Travel
Frequent travel required to support worldwide projects.
Profile
- Education Vocational Training (FP) in Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience Mechanical technician with 8+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, erection, or inspections.
- Experience in the crane or heavy machinery sector is highly preferred.
- NDT and/or surveying knowledge is a plus.
