In Ship-to-Shore crane rail tracks, the rail system provides the interface between the civil structure and the crane. It must therefore accommodate the relatively large civil tolerances and provide smaller mechanical tolerances for the rail. It fulfills this by allowing the rail position to be adjusted both vertically and laterally during installation to achieve the fine tolerances required by the cranes. Once the final rail level has been set, the rail steel support is grouted into position. To provide a perfect and permanent bearing between this steel support and the concrete below, an adhesive grout, the strength of which should be suitable for the calculated compressive loads, is used. The grout, chemically resistant and not affected by water, oils and greases, should be free flowing in the local environment in which it will be poured, and should not shrink when curing.

Gantrex installs complete crane runways, including grouting, and helps its clients select the proper grout depending on performance, application parameters, purpose (grouting or anchoring), installation conditions and local product availability. Contact us !
