Emissions reduction TARGETS VALIDATED BY SBTI

We are pleased to announce that our company’s near-term carbon reduction targets have received official approval from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI).

The SBTI, a collaborative effort involving CDP, World Resources Institute (WRI), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact), is at the forefront of driving change and helping organisations throughout the world work towards the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

Emissions Reduction and Monitoring

Our company-wide emission reduction goals align closely with the latest climate science endorsed by SBTI. Specifically, these targets focus on Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions, with the reduction measures to be met by 2030. These ambitious objectives are based on a 2021 baseline and are detailed below:

To deliver a significant 42% reduction in emissions for Scope 1 and 2:
- Scope 1 covers emissions originating directly fromfossil-fuel and gas consumptions.
- Scope 2 are emissions that a company causes indirectly and come from purchased electricity.
To monitor and reduce Scope 3 emissions:
- Scope 3 encompasses emissions not directly generated by our operations or assets, but which instead come from activities in our value and supply chain network.

Baseline: 2021 results

Our Action Plan 2023

Switch to renewable electricity and gas. Contracts for renewable electricity sources are implemented in offices in Belgium, Spain and Germany offices. The option of 100% renewable energy source is not always available in other locations.

Installation of charging stations. The company fleet is progressively renewed with hybrid and full electrical vehicles. Charging stations are installed accordingly.

5% reduction of energy consumptions. As the Gantrex Group we are committed to reduce our overall energy consumption by encouraging all employees to make a reasonable use of all types of energy (electricity, gas and water).
