April 6, 2018 - Geneva, Switzerland : Understanding why matter has triumphed over antimatter.
CERN has reported this week the most precise direct measurement of antimatter ever made. The result could help understanding why the universe is made up almost entirely of matter, even though equal amounts of antimatter should have been created at the Big Bang. At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, researchers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. They use the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments to study the basic constituents of matter – the fundamental particles - and perceive the fundamental laws of nature. To enable physicists to carry out data-taking activities in the best conditions, maintenance activities on those scientific instruments need reliable hoisting equipment travelling on reliable crane rail tracks. Gantrex manufactures and installs rail solutions for overhead cranes.
