Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) just received four of the world’s largest and most modern ship-to-shore cranes, manufactured by ZPMC, to accommodate growing volumes and increasing vessel size.
Gantrex had originally installed the Main Berth and the Feeder Berth of RSGT in 2012. But the arrival of those super cranes needed to extend the terminal by 1,200m of A150 rail track. The design, supply and installation of this new crane runway, with its special transition area to the “terminal of 2012”, was also executed by Gantrex, in cooperation with the civil contractor Saudi Archirodon. These new facilities will increase the capacity of the terminal by 50% to reach 2.5 million TEU.
