For over 40 years GANTREX® has been providing soft-mount rail solutions, such as weldable and boltable rail clips and pads for the fixing of rail for cranes and other types of mounted equipment.

GANTREX® Flexible Crane Girder Tiebacks, also called surge connectors, are an important component of high-duty cycle, fatigue-prone crane runways, such as those in steel mill buildings.

GANTREX® is deeply experienced with engineers and builders to assist in designing and manufacturing the best connection possible between runway girders and building columns.

The GANTREX® surge connector, or tie-back, is the answer to the ever present problem of fatigue cracks and breaks that often occur with rigid connections at the crane girder to building column interface.

Face-mounted and side-mounted tiebacks accommodate normal girder deflection in 3 planes while maintaining these critical connections.

Flexible tiebacks allow rotation of up to 5 degrees of girder deflection, which is compatible with relative movements inherent in building structures. Mounting brackets can either be field-welded or bolted. A single GANTREX® linkage assembly can transmit up to 165 kips (575 kN) of side thrust in tension or compression.

GANTREX® can supply tiebacks as assembled units, complete with girder & column brackets (fixing supports) already attached for easy field installation. The assembled tiebacks are maintenance free.
