Gantrex Once Again to Participate in
AIST Crane Symposium
Gantrex Inc. is pleased to take part in this year’s AIST Crane Symposium to be held in Pittsburgh, PA.
The 16th Annual AIST Crane Symposium will be held at Pittsburgh’s Sheraton Station Square, May
31st through June 2nd, 2009. The 2009 theme is "Overhead Crane Safety", and will feature
presentations about how to enhance safety during crane operation, maintenance and repair of overhead cranes.
Tom Berringer of Gantrex Inc. will present a paper titled, "Recognizing Electrical Hazards on EOT Cranes".
The paper will focus on safety for the person who occaisionally boards cranes but who does not typically operate or
service overhead cranes. It is designed to inform managers, engineers, salespersons, or others who must visit a
crane from time-to-time on how to recognize and avoid the hazards present on an overhead crane. Topics covered will
include shock hazards, arc flash hazards and how best to avoid danger while on a crane.
Tom will also moderate a Question & Answer period with FDRsafety, LLC for all topics on the second day of the conference.
